Rusanna P. Lisitsian (Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, People’s Artist of Armenia) finished the Gnesins Russian Academy of Music in 1969 as a singer (soprano) in the class of N. A. Verbova. Since 1965 she has been a soloist of the Moscow State Academic Philharmonic Society (Madrigal ensemble), since 1973 she has been singing in a duet with her brother Ruben Lisitsian.
Lisitsian has recorded many musical works for radio and TV: the cycle of V. Gavrilin The Evening, the cycle of I. Manukyan; folk songs of the world; Duets of Schumann, 12 Weber songs with a guitar, folk songs of Beethoven and Haydn, Forgotten America; works by Rossini, Schumann, Brahms, Handel, Tchaikovsky and others; Mozart’s Requiem, Brahms’ Songs of Love, Bach’s cantatas, quartet from the operas Rigoletto and Eugene Onegin; scenes from different operas. She has toured in many countries of the world and partnered with great conductors: B. Khaikin, G. Rozhdestvensky, V. Minin, A. Ponomarev, A. Yanson, L. Markiz and others.
R. Lisitsian has been a judge of many vocal competitions (Russia, Malta). She has given master classes in many cities of Russia and abroad. In 1971 she won the All-Union Competition of Vocalists named after Michail Glinka. In 1996 she began teaching at the Victor Popov Academy of Choral Arts and Musical College named after Gnesins. Since 2002 she has been teaching at the Gnesins Russian Academy of Music.
