Corona virus - information and recommendations

COVID-19-measures until autumn 2020

Due to Covid-19 there are the following hygiene and safety measures in place at the MUK during the summer holidays from Saturday, 4 July 2020 to Sunday, 6 September 2020 (incl.):

The locations Johannesgasse and Bräunerstraße are open Monday to Friday from 8.00 to 16.00.

The MUK administration staff in the Student Affairs Office, the Cash Desk and the Orchestra Management are also available for you during the vacation period, preferably by telephone or e-mail (all contacts can be found here). In urgent, justified cases, personal contact is also possible. The library is open Monday to Thursday from 10.00—16.00 and Friday from 10.00—13.00.

The Instrument Archive and the location Singerstraße will be closed during the summer months in July and August.

Use of the premises in Johannesgasse and Bräunerstraße is still only possible by appointment (see also Room Reservation).

During the opening hours, any form of teaching and instruction can be made up for at the Johannesgasse and Bräunerstraße locations on the basis of the voluntary agreement of both teachers and students.

It is possible to conduct necessary rehearsals for cooperation projects during the summer and should be arranged with Wolfgang Lerner (Head of Event Management) by 10 July 2020 at the latest.

In connection with Covid-19, the MUK appeals to the personal responsibility of university members. Cooperation requires the mutual agreement of all parties involved.

Before entering the rooms and offices of MUK, hands must be washed or disinfected with soap.

Please keep a distance of at least 1 meter from other persons and at least 2 meters from persons belonging to risk groups.

Members of the MUK who belong to risk groups are recommended to use FFP2 mouth-nose protection masks.

The minimum distance may be reduced in those cases where artistic necessity requires it and other protective measures are taken (mouth-nose protection masks, partitions, etc.).

Please ventilate your practice room regularly and independently during lessons, practice and rehearsals.

Please refrain from shaking hands.

Voluntary use of the “Stop Corona” app (Bluetooth function on mobile phone must be activated) is recommended.

Please heed the hygiene and safety instructions posted at the locations.

The MUK mail account must be called up at regular intervals. Any adaptations concerning Covid-19 will be communicated by e-mail and can also be found on the MUK website.

With the academic year 2020/21, regular operations will resume at all three locations from 7 September 2020. This means that, from today's perspective, all lessons, events and rehearsal opportunities will once again be possible.
