Before registering for the entrance examination, please make sure you did not miss the registration deadline. All relevant dates can be found on our website.
The regular entrance examinations take place annually between January and April. The study programmes start with the following winter semester.
Only applicants for the academic diploma course, Certificate of Performance (CoP), can apply at any time and arrange individual examination dates. For more details, please see our website.
In order to hand in a valid application you have to apply online and transfer the EUR 50.- application fee.
Step 1: Creation of an account

Your basic data and your e-mail address are required. Please stick to the spelling on your ID card/passport. After having received the confirmation email and selecting the link in it, you can log in to your MUKonline account to register for the exams and to submit and manage your applications.

You can use "Applications" to view your solicitations already submitted and track the processing progress. This includes the registration for the examination date as well as the exam results.
Eligibility for the admission exams is subject to the submission of all application materials and the timely receipt of the application fee (Please note that any transfer fees are to be paid by sender!).
After registration and fulfillment of all admission requirements you will be informed by e-mail one week before the scheduled date about the exact audition dates. Please note, that there can also be last-minute modifications. Be sure to check your e-mails the day before your exam.
Proof of German language proficiency:
All Bachelor or Master applicants whose native language is not German have to prove their knowledge of German with diploma (CEF level B1) at enrolment. It is not necessary to have a German certificate to apply for the Entrance exam. More information can be found on www.muk.ac.at à Service à German Proficiency.
If you come from a “third country” (non-EU or EEA state), you can obtain detailed information about your visa under www.oead.at
Information about entry conditions and visa procedure can be obtained from the Austrian authority responsible for your home country. If you require an official confirmation from our university for your entry (only if you cannot enter without a visa), please send an e-mail to the following address: firstname.lastname@example.org
After having received your complete application (with all supporting documents including application fee) we will send you the confirmation.

Applications for studying at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna can be submitted online at anytime; they will be reserved for the next admission period. Applications submitted after the application deadline can no longer be considered for the subsequent audition date.
