Databases and Music streaming

Students and employees of the MUK can access our databases and streaming platforms both on and off the campus. For the use from outside the campus it is necessary that you are already registered at the library. Please contact the library team if you have any further questions on logging in or the use of our digital library.

 

Berlin Philharmonic Digital Concert Hall
Personal registration must take place in the library. Die persönliche Registrierung muss in der Bibliothek erfolgen. Subsequently you get external access to all contents of the Digital Concert Hall. Please contact our library team if you got further questions or are in the need of support.

The digital version of the musicological reference work Die Musik in Geschichte und Gegenwart includes more than 19.000 articles from more than 3.500 authors.

 

JSTOR
Full texts of electronic and digital journals of the JSTOR Music Collection, documented from its first year up to a “moving wall” (depending on the title, 2-5 years before the current year).

 

RILM
Based on the Répertoire international de littérature musicale (RILM), international literature documents all genres of musicology and related areas.
A database comprising 620,000 bibliographical documents from 1967 to the current day

Naxos Music Library
World’s largest online streaming portal for classic music
Currently access to (as of Jan 2023) over 174,000 albums with about 2.7 million tracks from the genres of classic, jazz, world music, folk, rock, pop and Chinese music
Text material (mainly in English) with biographies about composers and performers, details on oeuvres, oeuvre analyses, CD explanatory texts, summaries and libretti of operas, etc.
