General information

The MUK offers its students a series of its own competitions during their studies. These include:

 Fidelio competition: Every year, scholarships from the Hugo Breitner Society and HFP Steuerberatungs GmbH are awarded to young artists* at MUK in this interdisciplinary competition.

 KS Gabriele Sima Singing Scholarship: Two-year scholarships are awarded, donated by the heirs and in memory of the former teacher, Gabriele Sima.

 Walter Jurmann Singing and Interpretation Competition: Biennially held three students at MUK will be awarded scholarships by the heirs of Walter Jurmann.

 Joe Zawinul Prize of the MUK: Dedicated to one of its most famous alumni, the annual prize is awarded in the form of a project scholarship to a student at the MUK. The aim is to enable the implementation of an innovative or musically cross-border jazz project.

MUK students can also participate in externenal competitions.

The MUK consideres itself a progressive Music and Arts university, which creates cultural values in the fields of music, dance, drama and singing. The MUK is the only university in the ownership of the city of Vienna and unites the best international talents and prominent teachers.
