Application procedure

Students from our partner institutions who wish to study at the Music and Art Private University of the City of Vienna (MUK) as part of the Erasmus+ programme can apply under the following conditions:

Application period for the academic year 2024/25:
End of January, 2024 — 1^st April, 2024

The application as well as the nomination of the partner institution is done via the application tool Mobility Online:

Please note that only complete applications can be considered. Also keep in mind that the quality of your application has an influence on whether you will be shortlisted.

Schedule of the academic year

Winter semester: mid-September — end of January
Summer semester: mid-February — end of June

Artistic self-presentation

The artistic self-presentation is an important part of your application. Please upload a link (YouTube, Dropbox etc.) to your previous artistic work. The video should have a length of approx. 20 minutes and reflect your artistic skills. The repertoire is freely selectable.

Learning agreement

The learning agreement (LA) is of great importance to your mobility. It guarantees, that courses which you attend at MUK are recognized within your study curriculum at your home institution. However, for the application process the LA it not yet relevant. In "Study plan" on MOBLITITY ONLINE, you may a) fill this step with "N/A" and "0" ECTS or b) create a plan of courses with approx. 30 ECTS / semester.
After receiving a study place at MUK, an additional registration on OLA is necessary! After you create the LA on OLA, it is first submitted for approval to your home institution and then to MUK.

Language skills

As all courses at MUK are held in German, you are advised to take a preparatory language course. There is a great variety of offers, for example the Goethe institute.

Selection procedure

First, the applications are checked by the IRC for compliance with the programme requirements.

Complete applications are then handed over to the head of the relevant department, his/her subject coordinator and the teachers concerned, who in turn examine the applications in detail. Applicants will be selected on the basis of the quality of their application, their artistic level and human resources.

We will inform all applicants of the results of the selection procedure by mid-June!
Accepted students as well as the international office of their home institutions will receive a letter of acceptance.

Health insurance
All students in Austria should pay heed to a valid health insurance. If you need insurance, please turn to the Österreichische Gesundheitskasse (see "Studentische Selbstversicherung").
