Im Rahmen des Erasmusprogramms für Lehrende kommt die lyrische Sopranistin Rebecca Berg vom Conservatorio S. Cecilia in Rom als Gastlehrende an die KWU. Begleitet von Rita Lo Giudice am Klavier, stehen vorrangig Werke von Bellini, Donizetti, Rossini und Verdi auf dem Programm.

Biographien der beiden Künstlerinnen (leider nur in Englisch vorliegend):


REBECCA BERG, Soprano, born in Canton, Ohio (U.S.A.), began her professional singing career while attending Baldwin-Wallace College. Berea, Ohio, Bachelor of Music Education, voice class of Professor Melvin Hakola, making professional appearances at the Berkshire Music Center. Tanglewood -- Lenox. Massachusetts, with the Chautaugua Opera Company, Chautaugua, New
York, with the Oglebay Opera Workshop under the direction of Maestro Boris Goldovsky, and also numerous appearances as soloist at Baldwin-Wallace College, among which, Aaron Copland's "In the Beginning" and Hansel in "Hansel und Gretel".
Ms. Berg continued her career as Performing Assistant in the Opera Department, under the direction of Professor Ludwig Zirner, at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, Master of Music in Applied Voice, singing leading roles in Gunther Schuller's "Tbe Visitation", Mozart's "The Magic Flute" and “Gianni Schicchi" While attending the University of lllinois, Ms. Berg studied voice with Professor William Miller, and vocal repertory with Professor Paul U1anowsky and Professor John Wustman.
The American soprano has received numerous prizes and scholarships, among the most important, a Fellowship from the Corbett Foundation for study and performance in Hamburg, Germany and Zurich Switzerland, and also a grant from the Fulbright Commission (Fulbright-Hayes Act) for study in Rome, Italy. While in Rome, Ms. Berg continued her musical studies with the renowned Maestro Luigi Ricci,
Teatro dell'Opera of Rome and with Maestro Giorgio Favaretto, completing the three year Diploma program at the Academia di Santa Cecilia and also the Artist Diploma with Maestro Favaretto at the Accademia Chigiana, Siena, Italy.
Since that time, Ms. Berg has participated at numerous international festivals and opera produetions in many European countries, among the cities of London, Belfast, Londonerry, Frankfurt, Munchen, Paris, Hamburg, Zurich, Bern, Amsterdam, Nantes, Lyon, Geneve, and Brussels, interpreting repertory spanning from the 16th to 20th centuries receiving enthusiasm both from the crities and public. In ltaly, Ms. Berg has performed in various cities; Rome, Sassari, Cagliari, Como, Bari, Barletta, Florence, Naples, Turin, Milan, Bologna, and Parma both chamber music and opera and has recorded various television and radio programs, including chamber music for Panarecords.
In 1991 Ms. Berg received from Baldwin-Wallace College the prestigious Alumnae Award recognizing various achievements obtained in her musical career. Ms. Berg has also participated as Juror at numerous international voice competitions in ltaly, among which, "Belvedere" and "'v. Bellini" and participated as a voice teacher and coach in Master c1asses both in ltaly, South Korea, and the United States.
Ms. Berg has been a member of the voice faculty at the Conservatory of Music “Luigi Canepa", Sassari, Sardinia, at the Conservatory of Musie "L.Refice" Frosinone, and since 1980 at the Conservatory of Music "Santa Cecilia" of Rome. Among her students pursuing a professional career are: Marina Rebeka (Latvian). Carlo Lepore (Italy), Mauro Utzeri (ltaly), Raffaella Milanesi (Italy),Miho Hirota (Japan), Joung Sung Mi (South Korea), and Anna Maria Ferrante (ltaly), presently member of the Voice faculty at the Conservatory "Santa Cecilia" of Rome.


RITA LO GIUDICE, born in Messina, Sicily, received her piano degree at the Conservatory of Music “G.Verdi” in Milan Italy, studying with Leonardo Leonardi. She also obtained a Harpsichord degree from the Conservatory of Music “San Pietro a Majella” Naples, Italy, in the class of Maria Delle Cave.  He also possesses a Liberal Arts degree in History, Science and Music Technique and Performance in the Musical Theater Department of the “Tor Vergata” University in Rome, Italy.
Ms Lo Giudice also participated in various piano courses with the following teachers: Vincenzo Vitale, Bruno Canino and Arnaldo Cohen; at the Accademia Chigiana, Siena, Italy with Michele Campanella and Joaquin Achucarro, and with Carlo Bruno at the Arts Academy in Rome, Italy.
In 2001, she also received a professional conducting degree as a participant in a course held by Maestro Piero Bellugi in Florence, Italy.
Ms. Lo Giudice has performed as a piano soloist in recitals in many Italian cities: in Milan the “Sala G.Puccini” at the “G.Verdi” Conservatory, and at the “Piccola Scala” and also in Rome,Viterbo, Como, Messina, Ravello, Naples.
In 1997 she toured the United States playing in San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, and New York.
Other than her career as soloist with orchestra and chamber music groups, Ms. Lo Giudice is also considered a valuable musical coach and  has participated with numerous artists in both International Voice Competitions “F.Cilea”, Reggio Calabria, “Vincenzo Nostro”, Seminara, and “G.Lauri Volpi” in Latina and various International  Master classes among the following: Y. Hayashi, G.Pigliucci, O. Stappi, G. Tucci, Mati Palm, G. Sabbatini and collaborated  with various opera houses in Italy.
In 1991 Rita Lo Giudice collaborated with Giovanna Casolla, Vincenzo La Scola and Josè Carreras for the Liric Opera Festival in Sicily. Among her professional  radio and television recordings are the RAI–Italian Radio and  TV and Telenova in Milan, Italy.
In 1991 Ms. Lo Giudice was a member of the National Commission for the Italian Conservatory Competitive Examination for Professional Accompanists. On May 21, 2004, Ms. Lo Giudice presented her work as a composer, the musical comedy, “Il Regno di Armonia” at the “Tor Vergata” University, Rome, Italy.
Rita Lo Giudice has been a member of the faculty at the Conservatory of  Music “O. Respighi” in Latina, Italia as piano accompanist, harpsichord (figured-bass theory) instructor, and coach both in the Voice and Opera Departments for both the undergraduate and graduate schools.
Rita Lo Giudice is presently a member of the faculty of the Voice Department as a piano accompanist and coach for both the undergraduate and graduate schools at the Conservatory of Music “Santa Cecilia” in Rome, Italy.
