Feliz Anne Reyes Macahis konnte für Herbst/Winter 2018 einen der begehrten Stipendienplätze des Artists-in-Residence-Programms von Bundeskanzleramt und KulturKontakt Austria für sich entscheiden.

Feliz Anne Reyes Macahis (b.1987 in Rizal, Philippines) studied composition with Jonas Baes, Kamran Ince, Oliver Schneller, Joachim Heintz, and recently completed her Postgraduate study with Beat Furrer at Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz.
She was a recipient of 2016 Niedersachsen Kompositionsstipendium, which also gave her the opportunity to be one of the artists in residence in Martin-Kausche-Ateliers, Künstlerhäuser Worpswede. Her recent awards include a 2nd Prize from {Raum::Klang} Wettbewerb Interaktive Klänge für 3D-Labor by I2audiolab, Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften Hamburg for her interactive sound installation mediation for Wave Field Synthesis System and Advanced real-time tracking (with passive glasses target & tree target), and a commission to write a 30-minute opera as a winner of Internationaler Kompositionswettbewerb NEUE SZENEN IV der Deutschen Oper Berlin. She is supported by the Styria-Artist-in-Residence and KulturKontakt Austria for this year’s composers’ residence in Graz and Vienna, and by the l’Association des Amis de Royaumont for her participation in Royaumont
l’Académie Voix Nouvelles.
Her instrumental works were featured in KunstFestSpiele Herrenhausen (Hannover), Mise-en Festival (New York), Divertimento Ensemble International Workshop for Young Composers (Bobbio), Internationale Katarzyna Myćka Marimba Academie (Hannover), Etchings Festival (Auvillar), Duong Dai Festival (Ho Chi Minh), Asian Composers League Contemporary Music Festival (Bangkok), Manila Composers Lab (Quezon City), NEXT GENERATION: program for students of music and composition of the Donaueschingen Musiktage (Trossingen), Pasimusic Festival (Kuopio), and in the 6th China-ASEAN Music Festival (Nanning), in cooperation with ensembles like Ensemble Mosaik, Divertimento Ensemble, East Coast Contemporary Ensemble, Ensemble Schwerpunkt, MikroEnsemble, Chambre d’écoute, Ripieno Ensemble, and Ensemble Aventure. Her interactive installations were presented in spaces like
Kulturzentrum Faust, Sprengel Museum, esc medien kunst labor, Kunstraum Tosterglope, and Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie (ZKM).
She received grants and commissions from the Fundación Musica AntiquaNova (Argentina), Manila Composers Lab- funded by the Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung, Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec, Conseil des Arts du Canada, and Hannoversche Gesellschaft für Neue Musik.
