Application procedure

Students from our partner institutions interested in studying within the Erasmus programme at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK) may apply under following conditions:

Application deadline: 1st of April (for the next academic year)

Schedule of the academic year:
 mid-September - end of January
Summersemester: mid-February - end of June

Please note we can only accept complete applications. Bear in mind that the quality of your application is crucial to your chances of being shortlisted.

Learning agreement

The learning agreement is of great importance to your application as it guarantees that courses attended at the MUK are recognized and accredited within the curriculum of your home institution.

Language skills

As all courses at the MUK are held in German, you are advised to take a preparatory language course. There is a great variety of offers, for example: 

Selection procedure

Firstly, applications are examined by the IRC for compliance with the programme requirements.

Complete applications are then handed over to the head of the respective department, his/her departmental coordinator and the teachers concerned, who in turn examine the applications in detail. Applicants are selected on the basis of the quality of their application, their artistic level and staff resources.

We will notify all applicants on the results of the selection procedure by mid June!

Accepted students will receive a letter of acceptance in e-mail form and the foreign study office of their home institution will receive a letter of acceptance.
